Back-to-school season is here! We returned to the ninth annual Atlanta Public Schools (APS) Back-to-School Bash on July 22 at Georgia World Congress Center to help prepare students and their caregivers for the 2023-2024 school year. The event provides free backpacks, school supplies, health screenings and other resources to APS students and their families.
The Newell Brands Charitable Foundation partnered with Empty Stocking Fund (ESF) to provide a monetary contribution that supports Atlanta Public Schools. ESF is an Atlanta-based nonprofit that supports disadvantaged children by providing gifts during the holiday season and other essential supplies throughout the year. Contigo®, Sharpie®, EXPO® and others donated over 500,000 Newell Brands’ products which helped fill 10,000 backpacks that were distributed to students. Employees from our Atlanta headquarters volunteered at the event, registering guests, ushering families through the Bash and distributing backpacks to thousands of excited students.
